  1. Start your computer and select Window XP in boot menu.
  2. Insert Vista DVD and launch Vista after that you can close the menu.
  3. Click start menu and select Run option and input the following command: e:\boot\bootsect.exe/nt52 ALL/force. (‘e’ here is the default drive for DVD ROM)
  4. Now simply restart your computer and close XP window. Now you can reformat your computer that had Vista installed.
  5. Once reformatted, delete Bootsect.bak and Boot.bak files from your XP root folder.
